Day 6 — The Cross Is Not the End

Ang Krus Dili Mao ang Katapusan

Introduction

When Jesus was crucified, His disciples thought that everything was over. Their Teacher had died. Their dreams appeared shattered, and their hope seemed to be buried with Him.

Apan ang krus dili mao ang katapusan sa sugilanon.

Jesus died and was buried, but on the third day He rose again! The tomb could not hold Him. Death could not defeat Him. Satan could not stop the saving plan of God.

The resurrection of Jesus declares that suffering, failure, sin, and death will not have the final word. Jesus Christ has the final word—and His word is life, victory, and hope.

Paul summarizes the message of first importance: Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, He was buried, and He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.

1 Peter 1:3

Through God’s great mercy and the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, believers receive new birth into a living hope.

Three Biblical Truths

1. The Cross Paid for Our Sins

Gibayran sa Krus ang Atong mga Sala

Jesus did not die because He had sinned. He willingly gave His life in our place and carried the punishment that we deserved.

At the cross, the holiness and love of God meet. Sin is judged, but mercy and forgiveness are offered to everyone who repents and believes in Jesus.

Mga igsoon, seryoso ang sala. It separates us from God and leads to death. But the love of God is greater than our sin.

Bisan unsa pa ang imong kagahapon, adunay kapasayloan diha kang Cristo.

2. The Empty Tomb Declares Victory

Ang Walay Sulod nga Lubnganan Nagmantala sa Kadaugan

Jesus truly died and was buried, but death could not hold Him. On the third day, He rose again just as He had promised.

His resurrection confirms that He is the Son of God and that His saving sacrifice on the cross is complete and sufficient.

Napildi ni Jesus ang gahum sa sala ug kamatayon. Sin, suffering, failure, and death do not have the final word. The risen Jesus has the final word.

3. The Resurrection Gives Us Living Hope

Ang Pagkabanhaw Naghatag Kanato og Buhing Paglaom

Christian hope is not wishful thinking or pretending that our problems do not exist. Our hope is anchored in the living Jesus Christ.

Because He lives, believers receive new life today and the promise of resurrection life in eternity.

Basin naa ka karon sa lisod ug mangitngit nga panahon sa imong kinabuhi. You may be facing sorrow, illness, disappointment, financial difficulty, a broken relationship, failure, or uncertainty.

Ayaw paghunong sa pagsalig sa Ginoo. What looks like an ending to us can become the beginning of something new in the hands of God.

Key Truth

Because Jesus died for our sins and rose again, everyone who trusts Him can live with forgiveness, courage, purpose, and an unshakable hope.

Personal Reflection

What does the death and resurrection of Jesus mean to you personally?
What situation in your life currently feels like an ending?
How does the empty tomb give you hope in that situation?
Is there a fear, failure, sorrow, or sin that you need to surrender to the risen Jesus?
Who can you encourage this week with the message that Jesus is alive?

Personal Application

Believe

Receive or reaffirm the Gospel: Jesus Christ died for your sins and rose again.

Surrender

Give your fear, sorrow, failure, uncertainty, and sin to the risen Lord.

Live

Choose one visible action this week that demonstrates resurrection hope.

Tell at least one person why the resurrection of Jesus gives you hope.

Closing Prayer

“Lord Jesus, thank You for dying on the cross for our sins and rising again on the third day. Forgive us, cleanse us, and give us new life. When we face sorrow, failure, or uncertainty, remind us that the tomb is empty and that You are alive. Fill our hearts with living hope and help us walk faithfully with You every day. In the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.”
